ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems play a crucial role in
helping businesses overcome complexities. ERP solutions provide
management the information they need for accurate forecasting and planning
business strategies related to inventory procurement, logistics
and production. ERP and CRM are both business applications
that store and analyze data in a relational database. Both are
delivered either through a traditional on-premises model or through
software as a service (SaaS), where the vendor manages the software in its
own data center and customers access it through the cloud.
As
part of ERP, CRM is one of the five ERP pillars, with the other
four pillars being financial accounting, distribution or supply chain
management, manufacturing and human resources/payroll. CRM involves
different participants and has the ability to manage these participants.
